My Favorite Picks From The Abercrombie Sale

Up until last night, I was dead certain that yesterday was THURSDAY and that today was Friday. I have no idea what's throwing me off but obviously I have ZERO sense of time anymore. Nick was like, "It's Wednesday, wanna go for crab cakes?" Because our favorite restaurant has a crab cake special every Wednesday. (OH MY GOSH! WE ARE SO OLD! ha!) and I was like, "uhh, I'm pretty sure it's Thursday." I mean, I was so sure that I had to check my calendar.

It's all good though because the kids don't have school tomorrow so I guess in some ways, today IS Friday.

So while I was planning to share my Friday Favorites with you beauties today, instead I'm sharing my favorite finds from the 50% off {abercrombie} sale! I woke up to lots of messages from people asking me to tell them what to buy. HA! I absolutely love you guys by the way;) and so I figured I would just round up everything on the blog for you today. I love this sale, It typically seems to happen as the seasons change. But you can always get great deals on so many items that transition well from season to season. For instance, my favorite tees are just $14 and tanks just $12! Pretty rad if you ask me.

Okay, okay. chatting. Sometimes I have to tell myself to just shut up. Here are my favorite picks from the {abercrombie} sale! These are great pieces to wear NOW and well into Summer & Fall. I'll be sure to chat about everything over on my Instagram stories if you want to come hang out for a bit!

Can't wait to hear what pieces are your favorites!

These items sell quickly when the site runs this sale so keep that in mind! The denim fits True to Size. I order a Small in tops which is my normal size. I only sized down in the woven tees because they can be a bit boxy if you size up.

How to Clean Your Oven in 20 minutes without Chemicals!

Is it just me or has the been the SLOWEST week, ever?!

While the rain hasn't been great for my motivation I did manage to do the dreaded task of cleaning out my oven yesterday. I know. SUPPPPPPER EXCITING! (I mean that in the most sarcastic way, ever.) but it had to be done. And sadly, I wasn't getting any offers from any one else in the house to do it. Which basically leaves me. All alone. To clean my oven. I admit I cried a little.

In all seriousness though, this time of year I don't actually MIND cleaning. When Spring comes, I like everything to feel fresh & new. I love cleaning out all the forgotten about places and things. Like trash cans, and baseboards. I mean, who actually LIKES to clean baseboards? NOT ME. But I do feel much better once that dreaded task is completed.

If you've been following along for a bit then you know I sort of like to find chemical free and more natural ways of cleaning my home whenever I can. I'm really weird about that sort of thing. When I was growing up, my Mom cleaned houses for a living, and she was always looking for more cost effective and natural ways of doing things, even back then. I learned a lot of tips and tricks from her that I have carried with me into adult hood.

But I know you guys aren't here for a back story. You're here because you want to know how to clean out your dang oven, without worrying about inhaling toxic fumes, right? RIGHT. Okay, so let's hop to it. (ha! hop! because Easter is coming..omg I'm such a nerd.)

Ya'll this is serious though- check this out..
Honestly, the pictures make it look a lot cleaner than what it really is.

You'll only need a few things that you probably already have handy:

2 tbs baking soda
1 cup vinegar
1 cup hot water
an empty spray bottle or glass bottle (I use these.)
and some orange essential oil

Step 1:
Put on some good music and turn it up REALLY loud. For some reason, Drake always puts me in the mood to clean. Who knew? #onedance #godsplan #themotto

Next, Start by emptying out your oven. If there is lots of caked up food or crumbs in the bottom, like there was in mine (hey, I really don't like cleaning my oven, okay?!) then go ahead and vacuum all that out.

Step 2:
Next we're going to mix up our cleaner, I love this as my de-greaser! I keep a bottle on hand for situations like this one, I also like to clean out my fridge with this. Because that can be pretty scary sometimes too. It's super easy to make! Just mix up one cup of water, one cup of vinegar & add 20-30 drops of Orange essential oils. I use these.

Shake that up real good and make sure it's all mixed together.

Step 3:
Apply the mixture that we just mixed up (that's a bit redundant.) all over your oven, especially paying attention to areas that need a bit more attention. If you're oven is REALLY dirty, I love this Method Heavy Degreaser on top of this vinegar/orange oil essential mixture we just made.

Step 4:

Immediately after applying the orange mixture, apply baking soda all over the oven, it will start to bubble and foam. It's working! So you don't have to! YAY!!!

Step 5:
Let this sit for awhile, at least 20 minutes, but overnight if you can.

While this is going- you could clean your sink or cooktop. I love to multi-task!

Step 6:
It's not as clean as it should be but I couldn't let this sit overnight and it was time to go get Nick from school so I had to get this DONE!

Use some good ole' elbow grease and wipe clean with a damp sponge, you can also use an SOS pad if it's really messy. I had to do that in this case. SOS pads are life.

STEP 6:

Pat yourself on the back because for sure nobody is going to do it for you, also, you should probably know that nobody is going to notice the oven is clean except you. Not that I know from experience or anything. But that's okay, because at least WE know.

Next week I'll show you how to clean the glass on your oven, It's a pretty big task so yes, it deserves it's on post, on a different day. Let's not get crazy, ummmk?

Who else is doing all the spring cleaning this month/week? I'm actually having fun sharing these cleaning tips with you guys! Thanks so much for always cheering me on and having my back!

If you watched my stories yesterday, here are the links to everything asked about that I shared!

Tried this method? Drop a comment below letting me know how it worked for you! Your feedback keeps me troubleshooting to figure out what works and what doesn't!
Thank YOU!

The BEST Glam Farmhouse Style Chandeliers!

Oh hey friends! Don't mind me! I'm just over here slothing my way through the week. I feel like the days go soooo slow but the weeks and months go by in a blink. It's cool & rainy here today, but you know what I say! At least it's not snowing! Ha. I think I would probably cry if it snowed in April.

Anywho, (ew, did I really just say anywho?) FACE PALM. Okay, back to the subject. I've chatted a bit about our master bathroom remodel here on the blog but I've been sharing our progress mostly on Instagram and in stories. I'm exctied about how it's coming together. This has been sort of a "Dream board" project for years that we never really wanted to tackle. We knew it would cost a ton of money, and it would take a lot of time. With so many other little projects to tackle here at the Scardina Casa, this one has defintely been put on the back burner. We've lived in our fixer upper for almost 6 years (HOLY CRAP!) and there is still so much to be done. But I keep reminding myself to take baby steps and not to rush things, because when I rush things I usually end up hating them, and ripping them out in a few months anyway.

I've been struggling a bit with the little details, like the chandilers and lighting. I know some of you guys are knee deep in remodels of your own so I thought I would round up my favorite farmhouse lighting for you guys to ponder over. I really do think lighting can make or break a space so that's why it always takes me forever to decide on it. I literally spent my whole day Saturday running from store to store and searching online for the perfect one.

You'll have to wait a few to see which one I picked but I'm rounding up my favorites for you guys today, all of these I either have in my house already, or I've purchased for a flip house. There's a mix of styles here, because well, let's face it, I'm a little all over the place when it comes to decor. In the end though, lighting is a great investment because it really can make or break a space. I mean, if I'm being honest, we still have a few boob lights to replace. Thankfully I didn't share any of those in today's post.  Ha!

Okay so let's jump in!

I have this chandelier in our dining room and I absolutely love it. It's glam but it's bronze color gives it a rustic feel. It also helps that it's under $140!

What can I say? I just really love old stuff & CRYSTALS. This light is the perfect blend of rustic glam, don't you think? We have this one in our downstairs powder room and I love the statement it makes. My brother jokes that it's our Jellyfish light. So now, we call it our Jellyfish light. Which I think is a pretty cool way to describe it. It's a great option for bathrooms or over a kitchen island! Don't you think?

These Chandy's are all the rage for a reason, the wood tones add instant warmth to a space! I love this one because of it's fun shape! Beaded Chandy's are also a fun way to add some immediate boho vibes to a space. I love it in bedrooms!

These are little but make a huge impact! Perfect for over bathtubs, in small entryways and I love seeing two of them paired together over kitchen islands. These lights give the perfect shabby chic cozy country cottage feels.

This light is absolutely gorgeous in a modern farmhouse sort of way. I love this in entryways! Makes such a statement!

This is the light I probably get asked about the most because I share it so much, it's under $100 and I absolutely love it's vintage farmhouse feel! I have it over our island in the kitchen and it really helped bring the whole space together. Perfect over islands!

This is by far one of my favorites! I love it's warm wood tones and it's pretty light wash!

This beauty is what dreams are made of! I literally swoon every time I see it. It's pricey, but if you catch a good sale and you're looking for something a little more glam, this one is for you!

I'm so excited to show ya'll which one I picked. Can you take a guess? What do you guys think about lighting? Do you have chandelier's or multiple chandeliers in your home?! Can't wait to hear from you guys!

5 Easy Ways To Decorate For Spring on a Budget!

Hey babes! Happy Monday, or erm...Sad Monday? However you feel about Monday, it's here so it doesn't matter. Some Monday's I'm like, "yay! A NEW WEEK! A FRESH START!" Other Monday's I'm like, "How is it here already?!" Today is one of those Monday's.

I'm still not complaining though. The sun is out & our tub and vanity is set to be delivered for our bathroom tomorrow. I seriously forgot how stressful it is to design spaces in your own house. Mostly because when I help Nick with a flip house, I just go with what feels good and what I think people will like. When it comes to what I WANT, I'm sort of confused as to how trendy, or not trendy, I want to be, and it takes me forever to decide on the SMALLEST things.

I can't wait to share an update with you guys soon! In the meantime, I've been getting asked a lot about Spring & Summer decor so I thought it would be fun to put everything I'm diggin' this season in one blog post for you beauties & 5 EASY ways you can add Spring into your home this season!

1. Faux Florals-

I love to bring faux florals into our home in the Spring/Summer, and fresh florals too if I can manage. But truthfully, I have a black thumb and sometimes faux is just easier. Plus, they never die. Which is always a plus, ya know what I'm sayin'? I do pick up fresh flowers at the grocery store usually weekly for our coffee table & by my kitchen sink, since I seem to spend so much time there. It might as well be pretty, right? The flowers cheer me up, even when everything is drab and covered in snow outside.
You can find this cute straw market tote here. It's also super cute hanging on doors or on a front door for Spring full of flowers!

If you can't make it to the grocery store- here is a great place that delivers fresh flowers, here

2. Greenery-
Florals & Greenery CAN be the same things, but to me, when I think of greenery I think of things that are, well, GREEN!

Like this fiddle leaf fig tree I snagged. He's a great addition to our living room and having some greenery in here cheers me up. I feel like it instantly makes a space feel more open in a weird sort of way, and brings me all the feel good happy vibes until everything is green outside agian. I picked this guy up {here.} and so far he's doing really good! I plan to incoprorate more greenery into our home as the season goes on! If you don't think you can manage to keep a real one alive though, I linked up some gorgeous faux alternatives for you guys that look like the real deal!

3. Floral Pillows & Prints-
I love florals all year long, but they're especially gorgeous in the Spring/Summer. Don't you think? I love adding floral pillows to our sofa and bed when the seasons change, It's a little things that can make a huge impact in a space. Since I keep our neutral pillows throughout the year, adding just one or two here or there as the seasons change helps me keep things fresh, without breaking the bank.

4. Lighter Textiles & Less Fabrics-
We all know I LOVE layers, in the form of blankets, table runners, pillows, you name it. I love texture. But sometimes, things can feel "heavy". I like to make things feel a little airer by using ligher colors and lighter fabrics when the weather changes. I still love throw blankets- so switching to ones that aren't as heavy helps keep things cozy, while still feeling airy & bright. I pack our large chunky throws away until the fall and instead opt for ones in lighter shades.

5. Patterned Rugs-
I've been slowly tranisitoning from Jute rugs and opting for ones with pretty vintage patterns in lighter colors. Jute is still beautiful, but it can feel heavy in a space I feel like, so opting for a pretty patterned rug can really brighten up and change the feel of a spacce. You don't have to change out your big rugs, just pick a cute patterned one up for the kitchen, like I always tend to do with the change of the seasons. It's a fun way to freshen up a space, on a budget. I linked up some super gorgeous kitchen rugs below!

So there ya have it! 5 Easy, Budget friendly ways you can bring Spring/Summer into your home! I love decorating because it doesn't have to be something that costs a ton of money, sometimes just moving things around can make a big change in a space! Sometimes all you need is fresh flowers to make a space feel fresh, adding greenery & floral prints is a great way to do that. What do you guys think? Will you be adding some Spring into your home this season? I'd love to hear how you guys do it! Drop a comment for me below or come say Hi on Instagram! I love to hear from you guys!

This week has been a little weird. Because of the snow I feel like it should be Monday today, Nick's been home the past two days and so has little Nick from school and that never happens unless it's the weekend so I guess that's why it feels like Monday. I mean, I'm glad it's not. And I hope this snow melts away quickly! Contrary to popular belief I don't MIND the snow, I just hate it after January.

While this week has been weird as far as weather and routine goes, I have discovered my share of Friday Favs this week. Spring & Summer is on my mind as we're planning plenty of trips & mini getaways this Spring. So my decor, & wardrobe finds are totally reflecting that! We'll be at the beach in a few weeks so I'm trying to prepare myself now.

For clothing reference, I'm 5'2, 126 lbs (give or take how many tacos & margaritas I've had) and normally wear a size 6 in jeans & shorts and an XS in tops depending on the make and brand.

Earlier this week I shared my 1.//favorite tees for Spring & Summer and you guys loved them too. They're marked down to just $14 so it's not too late to stock up on them in all the colors!

I also have a love of cardigans ALL year long because no matter how dang hot it is I'm always COLD. Seriously, I will NEVER say I'm HOT because I literally never am. Unless I'm sleeping. Then it's a different story! What's up with that by the way? This cardigan is one of my new favorites & you can find it here!

I got asked a lot of questions about the bag and it was sort of a birthday gift to myself, It's expensive, but real leather, super cute & the perfect "laid back, everyday bag".  You can check it out here.

Since we were practically snowed in ALL week I didn't really get dressed besides throwing on my normal leggings, and hoodie combo. I ordered this 2.//thermal hoodie online and I'm absolutely OBSESSED with it.
It's so soft & cozy. I love that it's lightweight enough that I can wear it now and be warm, but I can wear it with shorts in the Spring & Summer as the weather transitions. Proving my point about how I basically wear nothing but hoodies, I found this cute 3.//Velour Hoodie for under $25.
It runs large, so keep that in mind if you decide to order. My love of hoodies runs deep ya'll, what can I say?

I picked up some hydrangeas at the grocery store this week but I also ordered some 4.// fresh hydrangeas online!
I can't wait to get them! These are great for people like me who sometimes need a certain flower in bulk or for the average person who loves flowers as much as I do! My grocery store doesn't always have them in stock so sometimes it's nice to know I can just order them online to brighten my day.

I also shared some happy mail yesterday over on Instagram & I'm so obsessed with the Third & Main subscription box!
I got so many fun boho farmhouse goodies for Spring and I already can't wait for my next box! If you guys love surprises as much as me, be sure to check out these boxes! I really do feel like it's good value for your money.

We don't have much planned this weekend except of course to work on our bathroom, our bathtub and vanity should be delivered any day now & I'm getting excited but still a bit nervous because I really did go in a different direction with this bathroom. I'm anxious to see it all come together and I hope I don't regret my choices. It's so hard for me to make BIG purchases and choices because I always feel like "what if I hate it?" but that's the joy in the journey, right?!

I hope you have a great weekend friends! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

You can shop all my favorites from the week & all the items featured on my Instagram stories by scrolling below!

The Most Important Thing I learned About Social Media

I remember when Instagram first released Instagram stories. I remember being terrified to take a 15 second video clip and share it with you guys. Why? I guess because I had lived behind little squares for the past year. Suddenly, there was this open door for me to share more then just still images with you guys. At first I wasn't quite sure what to post, do or say. I remember walking downstairs one morning, and feeling like I wanted to share some of my daily to do's and just chat with my followers for a minute while making my coffee, quickly it became a daily thing. Constant comments and messages were rolling in with you guys sharing similar stories with me. Suddenly, it was as if I had 100,000 FRIENDS. I was connecting with my followers in a way I wasn't able to before.

Since I'm a naturally open person, It didn't even cross my mind that people had strictly followed my account for just home decor. Shortly after starting to share more than just my home with you- I got quite a few "hate" messages, so to speak.

It's like people were angry because I was an actual person.

A person with REAL feelings, and REAL emotions.

As an outsider looking in, I understand that it's easy to forget that real people sit behind Instagram accounts and blogs. REAL PEOPLE. It's so easy for people to say something mean, or nasty behind a computer screen they get to hide behind.

For awhile I didn't know how to deal with the hate, this was new territory for me. Am I sharing too much? Should I just stick to home decor? Should I not share photos of my kids, and my life? Did my followers REALLY only want to see beautifully (FAKE!!!) staged photos of my house?

It was hard for me to believe that they did.

I certainly lost my share of followers, at first it would upset me. I would step back and stop posting. But then one day, one day I woke up like, "WHY AM I WORRIED ABOUT EVERYONE ELSE?" Honestly, now looking back I realize I focused way too much on the handful of bad comments I got, I wasn't able to fully appreciate the amount of love and support I was receiving from my followers on constant basis. I was so focused on the negative.

I like to think that these days, those people who didn't love me for ME, have filtered themselves away from my Instagram. Over the last year alone I have connected with SO many people and I am so thankful for that!

Social Media can be kind of scary sometimes. It's easy to lose yourself and get caught up in numbers, likes, followers & comparison. We are constantly comparing our lives (myself included) to others, which in turn often makes us feel less than. Less than because we don't have as many followers, less than because we don't get as many likes, less than because our house isn't as big or fancy as someone else's.

I'm here to tell you to be yourself always. It wasn't until I was fully myself that my account was able to grow and I was able to connect with you guys in ways I never thought I could. It wasn't until I put my insecurities aside and became fully content with myself that I was finally able to BE MYSELF. One of my biggest requests for so long was- SHARE MORE STYLE! SHARE MORE OF SAVANNA! SHARE MORE OF YOUR LIFE! and I was always scared because I didn't know how it would be received. I didn't know if it was the right path for me to take to continue being open, genuine and real with you guys. BUT YOU SPOKE TO ME! YOU!!! And I listened. And I'm so glad that I listened. For the first time in a long time, I'm able to be ME. I'm able to share my flaws and insecurities, I'm able to share boring things like slippers and black leggings because you guys GET ME.

I see a few other bloggers scared to share personal pictures because heaven forbid they are real people behind their gorgeous homes, and I love that now I don't stress about it. You guys are cool with seeing my dirty dishes & laundry piles and you know the work that goes into blogging is very REAL. But it's just an image, a game of pretend that it's sometimes fun to play.

There are SO many posts out there telling you how to grow your instagram, blog, social media following. And I don't claim to have it down at all, and I really don't know what I'm doing because I'm a hot dang mess. But I think people forget that people gravitate towards that. I see beautiful accounts all over the place and for a split second I think, "man, I'd love to have a feed like that."

But it's not me. I'm messy, own way too many black leggings, have more staying in clothes then I do actual clothes, have been through hell and back and the last thing I need to worry about is taking 20 perfect pictures of myself or my house because lord knows its a miracle if I mange to brush my hair most days. So nope. That's not ME.

And it's probably not YOU either.

I see lots of people asking myself & others, "How can I grow my account??" and I think the answer is pretty simple at the end of the day..

Just be yourself.

I can't thank you guys enough for stopping by and always showing me so much lovin' it means way more to me than you know!

My Favorites From the New Anthropologie line at Nordstrom!

Hey babes! I can't believe that we're currently experiencing a SNOW-pocolypse. I seriously don't know if I should laugh or cry right now. But I'm just going to make the best of it & take some time to get caught up on some work & a few things in the Master Bathroom. It's coming along, slowly, but surely. This snow isn't helping us move any faster though.

This winter has been pretty brutal here in Maryland with snow, but we had a taste of Spring a few weeks ago and I was sitting on my front porch drinking coffee which was such a tease. After spending a few days in the sun, it's hard to come home to this. Just because my mindset is so focused on all the Spring things.

So I'll be doing nothing but talking about Spring here on the blog! I'm so excited to chat about the new Anthropologie Home Line at Nordstrom! I LOVE Anthropologie, (even more when they have a sale, let's be honest) because I really do think that the pieces they have a fun, especially for Spring! I love neutrals as much as the next girl, but I am totally finding myself drawn to color lately. I think you can totally do farmhouse style without having ALL WHITE everything. A little color is fun sometimes, am I right? This is where you say- "yes, Laurie. Yes." ;)

Anywho, I wanted to round up my favs from the new lines for you guys here on the blog! Lots of these pieces are under $50 and a great way to add some Spring vibes into your spaces. I can't wait to share a few things I snagged! Also, I shared my favorite milk bottle measuring cups that I just LOVE for you guys to take a peek at!

Do you guys shop at Anthropologie? Have you checked out the new line yet? I can't wait to hear what you guys think! Drop a comment below with your favorites! I'll have a haul up over on Instagram soon or should I share it here on the blog, too?

Love hearing from you guys! Now I'm going to pretend I'm not currently covered in snow & that Spring is coming SOON! SOON GUYS!

{this post may contain affiliate links- affiliate links means I might earn a small portion of any purchase. As always though, all thoughts and opinions are mine & mine alone. Thank you SO much for making this little blog possible!}

Why you should clean your mattress this Spring & HOW to do it!

We are in DEEEEEP DEEP DEEP Spring cleaning mode around here my friends.

Yes, even though it's FREEZING outside and we've been getting on & off snow for the past week. I figured this is the perfect time to catch up on all that deep cleaning because in a few months I'll be knee deep in our deck project and working outside in the yard (yay! can't wait!)

Today's post might seem boring if you hate to clean, so I forgive you if you don't stay long and exit right out of this post. I don't like to clean either, but for some reason, I do enjoy DEEP cleaning. There's something about finally pulling out the stove & cleaning behind it that is oddly satisfying. I swear I'm the same person, and I swear I'm not from another planet. Well, maybe?

Anywho, I shared this quick and easy mattress cleaning "hack" over on my Instagram stories the other day and I know several of you have tried it already! Which makes me so excited to get this baby up on the blog today so you have it for reference.
It's pretty short & simple but the entire process DOES take an hour or two to complete from start to finish. However it's not like, an hour of you scrubbing your mattress or anything. It's pretty much just an hour of "sitting" time.

First off, I'm going to chat for just a few seconds about WHY you need to clean your mattress. You wash your sheets at least every other week right? (I bleach ours weekly!) so why would you want to put those freshly cleaned sheets on a dingy old mattress? Imagine this, dust mites, allergens sweat and dust all sleeping with you. Pretty gross right? But it's honestly not something we think about until we..think about it. HA!

But it's all good! Because I'm here to show you the easiest, and quickest way to clean your mattress, make your room smell AMAZING, and help you get a restful nights sleep knowing your sleeping on a perfectly fresh & clean mattress!

Here's what you need:
1 15 oz box of baking soda
a few drops of essential oils (approx 20)
A vacuum (preferably one with a removable attachment.)

Now let's get started-

The first thing you'll want to do is put a few drops of Essential Oils in your baking soda box. I love to order my cleaning supplies from Grove Collaborative  and I get my essential oils here. I love to use Lavender oils for this specific cleaning tutorial.

I just added about 20 drops to the box and gave it a good shake to really mix up the oils.

Strip your mattress.. (I said STRIP YOUR MATTRESS, NOT STRIP ON YOUR MATTRESS.) Sorry, just didn't want any confusion. ;) and if you want now is a good time to launder all of your bedding and wash your pillows.

Once the bed is striped start pouring out your baking soda all over your mattress. I don't use the whole box but almost. After the entire mattress is covered I make sure it's rubbed into the mattress well by just rubbing it in with my hand.

Let the baking soda mixture sit for at least 1 hour on your mattress, but I like to leave it for at least two. Just to give the baking soda time to work it's magic.

After the time has passed, simply vacuum up the baking soda, and voila!

Your bed should be all clean and de-sanitized! Also, your room should smell pretty amazing too.

Sometime's it really is the little things, & I know you guys can relate to that!

I shared the full video for this over on instagram on my story highlights if you want to see this in action!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Have you tried this method yet?
I'd love to hear your thoughts if you have about it!

Friday Favs (All the SPRING Vibes)

Oh Friday, I kinda love you. It's been sort of a hectic week jumping back into routine after Jamaica. I feel like I'm on Island time for a solid month after a trip like that. Good for peace of mind, not so much my motivation? HA! However, I'm glad it's Friday! One plus to the week has definitely been the time change. For some reason I just feel like I have more time in the day to get ish done. Ya know?

Anyway, I do have some goodies to share this week that I've been lovin' up on lately! Also, I've been doing lots of Spring shopping & cleaning here at the Scardina Casa and for my closet! Can't wait to share with you over the next week or so. Let's get started with the good stuff.

I'm lovin' these comfy pink slippers I snagged, they remind me of The Golden Girls but in a good way ya know because pfffft. Who doesn't wanna be a dang Golden GIRL!! If you have no idea what I'm talking about- of course we probably can't be friends because I'm pretty sure Dorothy is my spirit animal. Share and comment on this post if you agree. Just kidding. You don't really have to share & comment. ;) But I mean, you tooooootally can if you want!

I also got TONS of questions about my faux tan in Jamaica- I shared that I used this Tarte Self Tanner & it is BOMB!

You can even layer it for a darker look which I LOVE especially on vacay, ya know what I'm sayin? Nobody should be subjected to THESE pale pasty legs. Some tips for using this self tanner? Make sure you EXFOLIATE!! I absolutely LOVE this one because it smells like the beach, also, I moisturize after! I find that the tan sets better that way but that's just my personal experience.

Moving on to other things- I blogged about my favorite Essential oils earlier this week in case you missed it. NO I DO NOT SELL THEM. I buy them because I love them and as you know, I love to share stuff I love with you guys. Because I do rely so much on my IG friends to fill me in on all the good stuff. If any of you have tried these or use these already I would LOVE to hear about your experience with them!

I shared the cutest straw bag with you guys in stories and I found a great dupe (UM, UNDER $40!!!!) for the one I shared because it's pretty pricey. No sugar coating it, ya know? If you want the real deal you can find it below. But the dupe is HONESTLY just as cute! Why AM I YELLING? I don't know. I like to use lots of exclamation points to get my excitement across to you guys when I'm writing.

ALSO- I HAD to fill ya'll in on some KILLER sales going on this weekend- because I feel like we're friends, and that's what friend's do..ya know? SPREAD THE LOVE! Okay, I really need to tone it down, that coffee this morning has me all sorts of hyped up. First thing I HAVE to fill you guys in on is my bedding. It's on sale for 20% off and worth EVERY. SINGLE. CENT.
{Drop cloth curtains pictured are on my Amazon shop page!)

After YEARS of searching for a duplicate I wasted so much money when I just should have purchased this beautiful quilt to begin with! It's so soft, heavy, & warm. Plus I mean, it totally makes a statement in the room. Don't you think?

{snag it for 20% off here}

Lots of my other favorite goodies on sale like my favorite candle for SPRING! and some other goodies listed below like my favorite milk glass measuring cups! So cute on your kitchen counter for some farmhouse/vintage flair.

And last but not least. I got so many questions about this TEE I wore for my travel day outfit last week.

Can I have a travel day EVERY WEEK? Just kidding. That would be kind of stressful. Unless I had an assistant. Then I would be okay. A life assistant. That's what I need. Anywho, it's only $15! I have it in ALL the colors because it's so soft & comfy! Keep in mind that it's a little short so I sized up based on that. Otherwise it's absolutely perfect.

Shop everything featured in today's Friday fav's below!

As always- you can shop my Favorite Amazon Finds on my Amazon Shop Page weekly!

What are your weekend plans? Anyone doing anything fun for St. Patrick's Day? I can't believe it's that time already but I feel like even with the super cold temps here in the Northeast Spring is coming my friends! IT'S COMING!

Happy weekend!

Getting Started with Essential Oils

If you're anything like I was a few months ago, oils confuse the you know WHAT out of you. I mean, at least they did me. I guess just because I knew so little about them. I had always had some friends reach out to me pitching their miracle oils, I was always hesitant to try because I just couldn't understand the benefit. Or the price.

I know all Essential oil's are different and I'm not hating on any one company or brand, I'm just trying to be honest when I say, it's pretty confusing starting out.

I had always loved the idea of oils. But could never quite understand how to use them or what the benefits of using them in place of candles was exactly. I had read comments about how people used them to aid in their anxiety, help their kids sleep better, and to avoid getting sick. I'm admitting to ya'll right now that I'm still learning about that part.
I started using oils about 2 months ago. I've been pretty much hooked since. Everyday I learn something new about them, and about the benefits. Everyday I find new ways to use them to help with the day to day "issues". I rub lavender on Savanna's heels before bed and she always sleeps so peacefully. She is normally pretty restless so it's been a lifesaver for us. I also use it when I'm feeling a little stressed and just need to chill for a minute. Just taking 5 quick seconds to rub some on my inner wrists and breathe is enough to help me chill out for a second. If you're a Mom, you know those 5 seconds are rare sooo, it's a pretty big deal to me, ha!

I've also found Peppermint oil to me amazing at aiding in my endometriosis pain when I'm having a flare. Just rubbing a little bit on sore muscles after a workout works amazingly well too. Who knew?!

I stumbled upon Eden's Garden a few months ago, I honestly loved the diffuser and thought I'd give oil's a try. We have already been attempting to be a "healthier" household, when it comes to eating, cleaning supplies, etc. so oil's just sort of made sense.  I started with the basic {starter} pack and diffused Aroma Fresh like it was my job. I was impressed with the strong scent, & how it made my whole house feel super clean & fresh. I'm a big scent person. Because I feel like if it smells clean, it IS clean, even if it's not. ;) (don't judge me, okay!)

I quickly became obsessed and started mixing together more "blends" for different things.

Today I wanted to share 5 of my favorite blends with you guys to try, I hope this is especially helpful to you just starting out!

1. Beat The Sniffles-
My sinuses are forever acting up this time of year. It's such a bummer because it's the one thing about Spring that I hate. ALLERGIES. I love diffusing this blend because it truly helps "clear me up" plus it smells super great.

3 drops of Lavender
3 drops Eucalyptus
2 drops Peppermint
2 drops Rosemary

2. When I miss the beach-
I call this the "mermaid" blend because it reminds me of the sea. & because of the pretty colors of the oil bottles. Am I weird? Is it weird that I notice that? Don't say I'm weird.

4 drops of Lavender
4 drops of Lime
2 drops of Spearmint

You can always adjust the oils to your liking but always try to keep it to a minimum of 10 drops depending on the size of your diffuser. I find much more than that can be a bit overpowering.

3. Deep Clean-
I've talked about my super secret cleaning "solution" before. Honestly, I'm almost embarrassed to tell ya'll just what it is. I use this as a general cleaning solution that works on pretty much any surface. Lemon is a natural disinfectant so you can use that alone on a damp sponge on countertops and cutting boards.

20 drops Lemon
20 drops Eucalyptus
1 oz white vinegar

Mix in a 2 oz bottle (or bigger if you'd prefer just adjust the oils and vinegar to size.) Solution can be used pretty much anywhere, including bathrooms.

4. To cure nausea-
I have really bad vertigo and it's always super gross when I fly and travel. It's so bad for my sometimes I get sick just driving in the car. I discovered this "trick" and I used it recently on our recent flight to Jamaica when we hit some turbulence. Just soak some lavender & peppermint oils in a cotton pad and take it with you in a plastic baggie when you travel. Or keep them in your purse in case you start to feel queasy when you're out somewhere.

2 drops Lavender
2 drops Eucalyptus
Soak in two cotton balls

You can place them behind your ears or simple just inhale the scent from a plastic baggie. It instantly helps with any nausea.

5. When you want a clean smelling house-
You ever have those days when you don't want to clean but you don't want anyone to know you sat in your yoga pants watching murder documentaries all day? No? Just me?

Okay then.

Either way this combination is amazing to diffuse when you want to encourage yourself to clean! I love diffusing this when the windows are up, music is blasting and I have my cleaning tee on. It smells so clean and fresh and instantly boosts my mood!

4 drops Lemon
4 drops Lavender
2 drops Eucalyptus
1 drop Peppermint

I'm still discovering oils and learning as I go, but I find a great place to start is with the Eden's Garden basics kit which includes all the oils you need to get started exploring!

I can't wait to continue sharing all of my tips & tricks with you! Be sure to check out Instagram stories to keep up with all my cleaning tips & tricks! I usually share something "new" each week and I love when we can clean together! As always, I love to hear from you guys! Drop a comment below for me or send me a message on Instagram!
