5 Ways To Add Personality To Kids Spaces!

Hey cuties! Blogging three times in one week? Who even AM I?! I'm slowly trying to get out of my Summer routine (which is basically just me being lazy, laying by the pool most days) and trying to get back to being productive. I love blogging, I really really do! And I feel most like myself when I'm doing it, but sometimes life get's in the way, ya know?

This will always be something fun for me, that I'm thankful I get to do and that I get to connect with so many people along the way! However my kids and family will ALWAYS come first, sometimes that means we might need to take a little break to get our minds right again.

All that being said, I'm anxious to get back to my creative roots, so to speak. I have so many house projects I want to tackle here at our casa and so many creative goals I've set for myself over the next few months, I'm excited and nervous!

One of the things I've been wanting to do for quite a bit was update Savi's bedroom to fit her personality a bit more, before this renovation here room was very vintage, but Savanna us spunky and full of character and I wanted her room to reflect that and where she is right now in her childhood. I wanted it to be neutral with pops of color so I was SO excited to when I saw the {Flower Home Kids} collection at {Wal-Mart} ya'll. HOLY FREAKING CUTENESS. I teamed up with them a few months ago to announce the official launch of Drew Barrymore's new line at Wal-Mart and I was and still am as obsessed as ever with EVERYTHING!

The kids home line is full of such fun prints, and patterns and the cutest things to decorate a spunky little girls (or boys!) bedroom! I had Savanna pick out a few things she liked, which was a little hard for me but I'm learning to let go a bit. After all it's just decor, and it's HER space so it should totally be a reflection of her and I want her to enjoy being in her own space.

I know some mama's can relate on struggling with giving kids say over the way a space comes together so I decided to put together some easy tips and tricks you can follow so littles can feel like they have a say and so mama can be happy too!

1. Bring in a fun throw pillow with personality-
Savanna is obsessed with rainbows and flamingos right now and her room reflects it! {this pillow} probably isn't something I would have selected on my own but she loved it and it's actually SUPER cute and reminds me so much of her. Pillows aren't permanent! And they can easily be switched out. There such a cute and fun way for you to allow littles to bring personality into their spaces.

2. Add Some fun art work.

Like pillows, art work isn't permanent! It can easily be switched out and I love that the artwork in this {line} is budget friendly and super bright and colorful. Totally reflects youth and childhood in the BEST way! I like to keep things like paint colors and bedding simple and neutral that way most art work matches no matter what.

3. Throw Blankets are always a great way to add personality!

I love throw blankets and throw pillows, ya'll know this! And I love the pretty blue color of this one! The tassels are so cute and fun and I also love that this one can be used in any space in our home. When buying throw blankets, try to think of more than one use for it. And don't be afraid of color!

4.  Wall Decals-

Similar to removable wall-paper wall decals are a fun way to change up a space! Most place even sell wall stickers that peel right off and this is a great way for kids to show personality in their own spaces. They're also usually SUPER inexpensive.

5. Twinkle Lights-

The SMALLEST thing ever but I swear they make Savanna so happy. What is it about twinkle sparkly lights or some glow in the dark wall stickers or stars that bring back so many memories from our youth. They were just the finishing touch we needed for this space and instantly added some cozy vibes to the space!

So there ya have it! 5 ways you can allow your littles to have a say in their spaces! Savanna is so happy with her new room and spends SO MUCH time here reading books or coloring, next up is the playroom that hasn't been remodeled in like, 6 years. And it's time for a refresh! Stay tuned to the blog for more info on that too! Hope ya'll enjoyed this post and I can't wait to hear what you think of Savi's new room!

What I got from the Wayfair Labor Day Sale!

Hey babes! Happy Thursday! I hope ya'll are having a great week! I can't lie, I've been stressin' a bit with the kiddos getting ready for back to school, I feel like this is such a chaotic time of year, combined with the ongoing construction at our casa I feel like life is just so messy right now! I know it's just a season though, and that this too shall pass. Hopefully. Fingers crossed. Until then I'm drowning my sorrows in wine. And white claws, cause let's face it, I'm just NOT ready to let go of Summer JUUUUUST yet. I sort of feel like labor day weekend is the start of the end though and I'm having mixed emotions.

Good news though is that there are TONS of amazing sales going on this weekend and I'll be featuring all the best deals for ya'll! The Wayfair Labor Day Sale and it's partner brands, such as Joss and Main, are some of my FAVORITE places to shop for home decor and I just ordered a ton of things from there for some of our upcoming remodels! In my humble opinion this is the best Wayfair sale of the year and a perfect time to refresh for the upcoming seasons! Also love that Wayfair offers free shipping always on orders $49 or more! That really adds up when shipping furniture and bigger purchases, plus they have the BEST selection.

The sale runs through until 9/2. So be sure to snag any of your favorites now! Stock is limited on some things!

I'm going to share some of my new goodies in stories over on Instagram but just in case you wanted to see a visual here on the blog I'm sharing here also! I bought a few things with Fall in mind and was able to snag some new light fixtures like a gorgeous beaded chandelier I've had my eyes on for MONTHS for the entryway and my bedroom, a new rug, and a fun new ottoman for the living room. Also, some new floor pillows for the pups and for Savanna's room and reading corner. I get asked about them a TON and I'm so excited to tell ya'll they're on SALE!

Here's what I PERSONALLY snagged from the sale (and I'll also be linking up my TOP picks!)

1.// Blanket Ladder- Love the wood tones on this one and the white dipped feet. I needed something a little taller and this one fits the bill perfectly! 2.//Moroccan Pouf- been eyeing these beauties up for forever and was so excited to snag 2 on sale! Can't wait to show ya'll my plans for them! 3.//Fiddle Fig- I have a thing for faux fiddle's since I can't seem to keep real ones alive, planning to use this one in our hallway where we don't get tons of natural light. 4.//Chair and a half- EASILY one of my top favorite Joss and Main purchases EVER! So freaking comfortable and easy to clean! Everyone loves this chair! 5.// Boho Rug- I've been eyeing up this exact rug for AGES! Love the colors and print! 6.//Wooden Beady Chandy- I've been waiting for this to go on sale for our bedroom but I think I might hang it in our entryway instead! Such a steal at under $200 bucks! Similar cost well over $400. 7.//Leather Pouf- I originally wanted one of these for Nick's room but I think I might use it in the living room to go with the darker fall colors I'm planning to bring in for the season. 8.//WALL BASKETS- I absolutely love these wall baskets and I got 2 sets to create an accent wall in our hallway.

Seriously, If ya'll are debating this chair it is TRULY amazing. I have ZERO regrets!

I'm also linking up some of my favorite rugs, like the one I have in our living room, and the new runner rug I just purchased for our entry. In the cooler months, I like to switch to heavier textures to bring warmth and coziness into our casa. The jute is soft on this rug and I love the tassels on the end, I also really like the light bleached white color, compared to most normal darker jute rugs.

I own all almost ALL of these rugs! Wayfair is actually one of the first places I check when I need a new rug! Nick has this one in his room! I have this one in the living room, and I'm currently debating this one for Savanna's room!

Now is the perfect time to give your home a little lovin' and spruce up your spaces! There are some serious deals happening and lots of things up to 80% off! If you're looking for it, Wayfair or one of it's partner brands probably has it! :) I can't wait to share a haul with ya'll soon! Did ya'll snag anything from this sale?! Would love to hear from you! Drop a comment for me below or send me a message on Instagram!

this post is sponsored by wayfair but as always ALL thoughts and opinions are my own! Thank you so much for supporting this little blog, none of this would be possible without you!

9 Easy Ways To Update Your Bathroom on a Budget!

Hey beauties! Hope ya'll are having a great week! I can't believe Summer is wrapping up already! I'm so sad, because Summer is my FAVORITE but I'm also a bit excited because when the seasons change I get antsy and a bit motivated to tackle ALL the projects I've had on my to do list FOREVER!

One of the things I've been wanting to do for a long time, is spruce up our downstairs powder room. I have to tell ya'll I h a t e the tile in here with a passion, but when we installed it a few years ago we had it leftover from another project, were on a budget and working with what we had. While I hope to change it sooner, rather than later, I'm learning to work with what I have and work around it. With other the other projects we have to tackle right now, this one is totally on the back burner and not a priority. However, that doesn't mean it still can't be pretty and full of things I love!

So I hit up Wal-Mart in hopes of finding some new goodies to spruce up this space on a budget. I love Wal-Mart lately for their decor & prices! Everything is super trendy and affordable. It's a great place to shop if you're in the market for new decor but don't want to spend a ton of money!

Today, I really wanted to share some ways you can update your bathroom on a budget and doing projects that don't take a ton of time. So today I'm going to share some tips & some ways you can make a space feel fresh and new again!

Tip #1- Replace that ugly soap bottle with a pretty dispenser.

I used {this one} from Wal-Mart and absolutely LOVE it! It comes in a few different color options and it's one of the easiest ways you can make your bathroom feel "prettier".

Tip #2- New Towels.

This is something that always excites me, okay? Don't ask me why. I just really really like new towels. Usually white ones. But here I decided to go with a cute pattern. It's subtle. I like it! Wal-Mart has a GREAT selections of super inexpensive towels if you're searching!

Nothing is worse to me than an old, tattered towel. It's such an easy fix! So I always keep some simple freshly laundered hand towels on hand in the bathroom, but I also always love a good print when needed! The gray and white is a simple contrast and I love the simple yet, fun pattern for an update! Opt for floral in the spring, and a pop of color in the Winter months to brighten your cloudy wet, and snowy days! :)

Tip #3- Add a new rug in a fun print or color.

I have been LOVING this coral color lately and when I saw this pretty rug I knew it would be perfect in our little corner powder bathroom! I love the round shape and the dainty crochet detailing. It's very "boho chic" and I'm here for it! A rug in a fun print or pattern is really cute too!

Tip #4- Update your Wall Decor.

This piece I have hanging on the wall isn't for sale anymore, but I did find some cute signs on the Wal-Mart Site that would be ADORABLE in a bathroom! Like this one.  Wal-Mart has a huge selections of wall art and signs!

Tip #5- Curtains.

If a space is feeling blah, or drab, adding curtains always helps. I like the look of sheer white curtains but a pattern can be fun too! especially if a room is especially "plain"- floral prints are also a great way to add dimension and personality to a room!

Tip #6- Lighting.

Lighting can make or break a space for me and it's honestly the MOST important. Add a fun chandelier or a new vanity light! Don't be afraid to mix metals in this case! Lighting should be fun and show your personality and your homes style!

Tip #7.- Updated mirrors.

I always love using interesting or fun mirrors in my my home, especially in the bathroom. This one is great because of the wood tone. But I also like that it adds a little texture and visual interest.

Tip #8- Update a Vanity by adding new hardware.

New hardware is probably the most inexpensive way to spruce up your space! You can often find knobs for under $10 and it's just a fun way to add personality so a space! I don't think anything in our home has the original hardware we bought with it.

Tip #9- Sink Fixtures.

You don't have to buy new sink fixtures to get yours to feel new again! I like using some spray paint to update hardware and fixtures when I want a new look but don't want to spend a ton of money. This is a super simple project that doesn't take a ton of time or cost a lot of money!

So there you have it friends! 9 ways you can easily update your bathroom on a budget! I hope this post helps you a bit and reminds you to love the home you HAVE! It doesn't take a ton of time or cost a ton of money to create pretty spaces that make you smile. Sometimes it just takes a little creativity to get the ball rolling! I'm linking up some of my favorite recent Wal-Mart finds for you all to take a peek at!

How To Decorate a Teen Boys Room on a Budget!

Hey babes! Can't believe it's almost August already. I am SO SAD. I know so many of ya'll are ready for Fall but I just ain't into it at all yet. Maybe it's the fact that it felt like Summer took SOOOOOOO long to get here. But I'm just not ready to give up my baby just yet. Savanna starts kindergarten this year and I am just all sort of bent out of shape over it. Nick Jr. will be a junior in high school and it's even crazier to think that he'll be graduating so soon. I'M. NOT. READY.

Speaking of Nick Jr. though, can I just freaking mention how hard it is to decorate a teen boys room these days? They are truly the pickiest human beings I've ever met in my entire life. And I think TEEN BOYS are even worse, because they don't want anything too "childlike" or girly in their spaces. Which I totally get but still.. I need SOMETHING to work with.

Most of you know we recently gutted our entire upstairs (living in a fixer upper, structure issues, etc..) and it was striped down to nothing. It's been an interesting experience living with to say the least, but we're making the best of it, and I'm kind of enjoying it and not feeling so rushed to get a space decorated. Nick's room was probably the worst of all the bedrooms in the house and he was so excited to have a new space.

His only request? He wanted an L shaped corner desk.

During the selection of things for his room, shelving, color scheme, tones, bedding etc, I was 99.9% sure I was going to kill him. True Story. This kid had me SO STRESSED OUT, but eventually we came together and agreed on a few things, like a neutral color scheme that could continue to grow with him, wood tones and nice sturdy furniture he could take with him one day if he choose to do so. During the progress I found myself turning to {walmart} a LOT to find things like shelving, affordable high quality bedding, decor, shelving and more.

I've been crazy obsessed with Wal-Mart lately and their huge selection of affordable home decor. You can't beat the prices and the brand is great for ANY and every budget! For real! If you're on the hunt to find some pieces to update a space, bedroom, game room, bathroom, playroom, Wal-Mart is the place to go!

So without further ado, here are my top tips for decorating a boys room on a budget!

1. Select neutral furniture and accent pieces!

These things will grow with your child and can fit any decor scheme. I picked a neutral gray for his room and love that it matches any decor or color scheme. I like keeping the pieces I spend more money on super neutral so they don't have to be switched out every single time my style changes.

2. Don't be afraid to pattern play!-

For Nick's bed I picked this super comfortable and soft comforter set from Wal-MartI love that it's reversible and can be switched around for a completely different look. The horizontal stripes and vertical stripes on the comforter and the duvet cover keep the look fun and playful without being too immature or childlike and still feels grown up in it's own right.

3. Add Texture-

You can do this with a fun throw blanket with tassels, or possibly even a fun pop of color like mustard with gray and navy. I added some texture and warmth with these throw pillows from Wal-Mart that are insanely well made! The leather texture on the pillow is so soft and gorgeous and it can work in so many different spaces. NOT just this room! I love versatile pieces like that because I can shop my home anytime! Another way to add texture is with {window blinds} and/or wood tones like a small end table, desk or shelving unit.

4. Create a work/play space-

Back when Nick was little we used his closet space as sort of a mini- playroom and kept his dresser where the desk is now. But he wanted his dresser in his closer (makes sense) and his desk in his actual room now. So we opted for this corner L-Desk to save space. I love the wood look of this one and think it adds some warmth to the space. This is where he plays fortnight and also leaves his 20 cups and Taki chip bags. Even though he has a trash can right next to this desk. But that's another post for another day.

5. Removeable Wall-Paper-

We haven't had a chance to instal his accent wall just yet but are working on it! I got this wallpaper from Wal-Mart and plan on adding it behind his bed for some more visual interest.

6. Industrial Shelving-

I still remember when industrial shelves were just becoming a thing and Nick and I had to DIY them, these days you can buy them everywhere, but Wal-Mart seriously has a great selection of shelving! Boys shelving and decor can be tricky, so I just let him have fun with this one, its sold out but I'll link similar! General idea is the same. Everything in his room now has a purpose.

7. Add Greenery-

I've always been big on "bringing a room to life" but opted for faux plants instead of real. Not sure why. These days I opt for real more than faux and I gave Nick his very own baby to take care of. He's been watering it once a week like he should so, so far so good. Wal-Mart has some ah freaking MAYZING faux plants right now though I'll link as well.

So that's it ya'll! 7 Easy ways to decorate a boys room on a budget! I hope it was even just the tiniest bit helpful! I also hope that it helps you not stress as much as I did over this space. Also- is it 5 yet? Mama needs some "juice"...

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Sneak Peek & Tips!

Hey babes! Hope ya'll had a great Holiday weekend! This is my favorite month of the WHOLE YEAR! So many fun things happening. We basically celebrate all month long!

I've been chatting with a lot of you about the Nordstrom anniversary sale and wanted to just put together a blog post real quick about it because it's one of the biggest and honestly, best, sales of the year.  So to clear some things up- the Nordstrom anniversary sale is when they drop brand new arrivals throughout the site that are deeply or heavily discounted, so this isn't like one of those "let's clean out the old things" type of sales. That's what makes it different and so good!

So What Exactly is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
Early access for the sale starts on July 12th- but that's just if you're a card holder. I normally don't advise credit cards but this is the ONLY one I have because the benefits are just SO good! If you're planning on shopping the sale I really suggest getting a Nordstrom card so you can earn the points- I just have the Nordstrom retail card. You can sign up here and get a $60 bonus note to use to shop the sale!

All this being said..it's super easy to get caught up in the excitement of it all. Feeling like you have to have every single thing, every single blogger posts. And while I probably shouldn't be telling you this- you don't have to do that and honestly- you shouldn't. While I totally appreciate ya'll buying things through my links, I would never want you to feel like you HAVE to buy something or go into debt over it. Especially not a sale. It's important to me that I'm 100% honest and upfront about what's worth it and what isn't.

I bought SO much stuff last year I didn't need. I ended up returning half of it. So this year, I wanted to put a plan in place so I can be prepared and only buy the things I can work into my wardrobe or home over the next few months.

Tip #1- Set A Budget

(this is probably the most important thing.)
It can be $500, or $25. It doesn't matter, as long as you have one. You can easily get caught up in the moment when shopping this sale. So set a budget, and stick to it.

Tip #2- Create a "wish list" of things you want and need
I know a lot of people are coming to me asking for workwear ideas so I'm planning a few workwear round up's with items from the sale- however for me personally- during the sale I like to stock up on my favorite Zella Leggings, (these are perfect for my short girls!) I always snag a pair of newVince Camuto Booties and I love love love my RAILS plaid shirts, they are seriously the softest and fit like a dream! I wear them ALL THE WAYS. Also planning to snag this COZY Barefoot Dreams throw that I missed last year, but totally planning to snag this year for sure.

Tip #3- Shop Smart and if you want it, Don't wait!
Things from this sale sell out insanely fast, like within minutes fast. It can be stressful, and gives me anxiety but I know that it's a great time to snag a deal on my favorite things so I deal, Nordstrom probably has the easiest return policy EVER, they include a pre-paid shipping label in your package and all you have to do is grab and envelope and return if something doesn't fit or if you don't like it!

Here's a peek at some things that are going to be apart of the sale that I personally am hoping to snag! Lots of basics that can transition well through the season! Lots of these items NEVER go on sale so it's great to snag them while the sale is happening!

None of these items are on sale YET, but will be live on Friday at 12:30, so you can bookmark this page or your favorite items so you can be sure to snag them before they sell out!

I'll keep ya'll updated on my favorite picks from sale and I'll also share a new blog post when the sale goes loves of my current favorite items and promotions and do a huge try on session- Be sure to follow me in the LTK it app for my sale picks, collages and outfit ideas! I'll try my best to keep you guys as updated as possible and share new information with ya'll as it comes to me!

Wal-Mart Wednesday- 5 Things You Need For Summer Now!

Hey cuties! Happy Wal-Mart Wednesday! Can ya'll even freaking believe it's July already? HOLY CRAP. I'm super happy because it's my favorite month but also sad because Summer is going by so fast like it always seems to do.

However, it's still in full swing here at the Scardina Casa so I wanted to pop in with my monthly Wal-Mart try on haul & share 5 things I think everyone should snag for Summer Vacations & Trips!  Have ya'll stopped in Wal-Mart or hopped on the site recently? So many cute things and amazing deals on high quality items. I am SUPER impressed lately and I've been stopping by the clothing section every trip now. I shared a Wal-Mart swim haul last month and shared (here) if you wanna check it out!

So let's get started with 5 things you need for Summer now!

1. A fun day date or date night top!-

I am so obsessed with this cute halter or tube top style top in this pretty pink floral pattern, but it also comes in a few more options including white which is always so classy and timeless and can transition well through the seasons with some black skinnies or denim and booties. The style is so fun and looks adorable with high waisted jeans or jeggings.

2. A fun straw tote or crossbody bag-

For me, personally, it's my favorite time of year when I can switch to carrying my straw totes when the weather gets warm. I can't get over this cute straw crossbody that is perfect for carrying your beach day or day trip essentials. I love the crossbody style but it can also be worn on the shoulder. Wal-Mart also has the cutest freaking beach and tote bags EVER.

3. A go to dress-

This one gives me major boho vibes and I am here for it! The dress is so lightweight and comes in a gorgeous royal blue color too. I love the tie front, cinched waist and off shoulder style sleeves. Plus olive is the perfect color when you have a Summer tan! HERE. FOR. IT.

4. Nude wedges or Metallic Gold Sandals

I'm LOOOOOOVING these metallic gold cross slides. The style is so timeless and literally dresses up any outfit. Also, everyone needs a pair of nude wedges and {these} are super comfy and priced right at just under $20. Say waaaaa?! Such a great dupe for a "more expensive" pair.

5. White Jeans or Jeggings-

I'm the type of person that wears white denim ALL YEAR LONG with zero shame, so I have a few pairs on hand. I love how stretchy these ones are, and they're super lightweight so they're great for hot summer nights paired with nude wedges and a cute top! I wore them with this cute striped tee that is also SUPER comfy and can be paired with a denim jacket and black leggings for a more casual or "travel friendly" look!

So there ya have it! 5 Things you need to add to your Summer wardrobe! I would LOVE to know what ya'll think! What are your must haves for Summer? Should we continue the monthly Wal-Mart Try on Hauls?! Drop a comment for me below or shoot me a message over on Instagram! I love to hear from ya'll!!!

26 Things To Do With Your Kids This Summer!

Hey babes! Long time no blog, what can I say? Summer is just beginning for us here at the Scardina Casa, Nick had his last day of school on Tuesday and Sav on Monday. We're ready. I'm anxious to have a more relaxed schedule for sure, but let's face it, Summer days can get long, and well, boring, after a bit. I love it but Sav get's bored quickly, she can occupy herself but she likes to have things and activities to do or look forward to!

I do have a few day trips planned but nothing crazy besides our beach trip to Florida at the end of the Summer, our bucket list is pretty basic, but it's full of some of the best traditional Summer things and that makes me happy for sure! Every Sunmer since Nick was little I put together a bucket list and it was one of my favorite things to do!

But today I wanted to round up 25 fun things you can do with your littles this Summer that don't cost a ton of money!

1. Head to the Zoo.

This is basically on everyone's bucket list, isn't it? We personally love Smaller Zoos. Not only are they cheaper but you get a completely different experience visiting smaller ones, we head to one about an hour from us, and you can ride camels there. Savanna talks about it all year and always looks forward to our Summer trips there!

2. Make a birdhouse-

There are plenty of ways you can DIY this project but sometimes it's just cheaper to buy a kit! We did (this one) and it came with everything we needed except the bird feed itself!

3. Build a Sandcastle in your own backyard!

Savanna's favorite thing is this (Sand) i love it because it's not as messy as Play-Doh and never ever dries out. We have several sets of sand but (this set) is great and comes with a container to keep your sand in and all the accessories you need to build a sandcastle in your own backyard.

4. Do a Sensory Activity-

We love these themed sets from (amazon) we like to learn about different things each week and these are great for that. One week we'll do something about space, the next about the ocean, the next about dinosaurs- etc.

5. Buy a cheap telescope and spend the night looking at the stars-

Sav has been really intrigued by Space lately! Which is awesome because so am I! I love looking through a telescope and exploring the night sky! There are several great guides online to search for different star configurations or you can grab a book to help guide you! {We got this one.}

6. Make a hanging Solar System!

7. Create a Fairy Garden
You can opt to head to your local nursery to grab a few things but this is a great starter set!

8. Play in a Sprinkler

9. Have an outdoor movie night!

We've made so many memories with our outdoor movie set already! We have this projector, it's under $100 bucks but has been good to us for the past 2 years and serves it's purpose! Also, it's bluetooh so you can connect it to any bluetooth enabled speaker! We use this projector screen! I love it because it's light and we can pretty much carry it anywhere!

10. Have Smores making "contest" using different ingredients and vote on who's creation tastes the best!

11. Have a backyard camp-out

This is exactly what it sounds like! just pitch a cheap tent in the backyard, start a fire, roast marshmallows or grill hot dogs and tell scary stories! It's such a fun time and we host a family camp-out with my nieces every year! They love it and so do we!

12. Go out for Ice Cream or Snowballs

13. Visit a Drive in Movie or go to the Movies

14. Make a wind chime
15. Create a Butterfly Garden
16.Catch Fire-Fly's
I'm not even sure if everyone has these but one of our favorite things to do in the Summer is catch fireflies in a mason jar! We just punch holes in the top and catch as many as we can and look at them for a little while before we let them go. It's one of those simple things that seriously makes me so happy!

17. Visit a local lake or beach

18. Head to Michaels Stores for a craft day!

Did you know Michaels Stores offers weekly themed crafts for your littles? It's called Camp Creativity! Just pay a small fee and your little one can make a cute craft on select days through the week! We've been doing this with the kids for years and it's seriously so fun!

26. Vist an Aquarium

As you an probably tell, Sav really loves arts and crafts so I'm always looking for good kits so she can be creative! I really hope this list helps you on those boring summer days when theres nothing to do! We typically do one craft a week, and we take one "field trip" a week. A field trip can just mean a trip to our cousins house to swim for the day, a trip to our local farmers market or a quick stop to grab snowballs or ice cream!

I really love the long lazy days of Summer and am looking forward to spending lots of down time with the kids this Summer just relaxing and enjoying it while it lasts! I hope you do too!

Hey hey! I'm so excited but also kinda sad, excited because my favorite holiday is coming up, 4th of July, but also a little sad because I can't believe it's approaching so quickly! I wanted to share a few fun drink recipes, and decor ideas this week to get myself and everyone else prepared to celebrate!

I shared this recipe over on my Instagram earlier and figured I'd post it here too so ya'll had something to reference. Sidenote: I'm the messiest cook ever, and there was lots of trial and error happening while I made this.

This dip is suppppper easy and you've probably already heard of it, but adding some candied sprinkles to it can make it feel super patriotic and bump up this classic recipe a notch for your guests! This is also something super easy you can make to take camping, out on the boat, or to the beach. I'm also not a fan of baking really in general so I like making cute and easy things that don't take me forever. This is always a hit!

BAG OF MARSHMALLOWS (I used JUMBO sized but you can use any size you want.)
1 6 PACK bag of Hershey Chocolate Bars
Butter or Crisco
Colored Sprinkles (I used red & blue)
baking pan of your choice
parchment paper
toothpicks or skewer stick
paper towel

Step 1- Preheat Oven to 450 degrees

Step 2- Line a cookie sheet or baking pan with parchment paper, fill a bowl with water (enough to dunk a marshmallow in.)

Step 3. Skewer a single marshmallow on your toothpick or skewer stick, dip in water, blot on paper towel, and over a bowl, sprinkle red sprinkles all over marshmallow until it's completely covered. I used 6 blue and 11 red marshmallows. Repeat this step with blue sprinkles until you have enough marshmallows. It helps to lay out your "flag" before starting the sprinkle process, I used 11 red, and 11 white marshmallows alternating between the two.

Step 4.  Let marshmallows stand for about 10-15 minutes until dry. While they're drying, Prepare your baking sheet with crisco or butter. bottom and sides of pan should be completely covered.

Step 5. Layer chocolate bars along bottom of the pan, I sometimes break them up to fill in empty spaces. You can get creative here and use different things like nutella if you choose!

Step 6. Create your "flag" by alternating red, white and blue marshmallows over to top the chocolate bars and bake for 7-10 minutes until white marshmallows are browned just a bit.

It's seriously so easy and perfect to throw together for any event! It's always a hit!

I ended up pulling mine out of the oven too soon and messed up the top corner of the blue marshmallow, so learn from my mistakes and wait for the marshmallows to cool in the oven before removing!!

TIP: Smores dip is best served warm, so if you want to prepare ahead, I'd do steps 1-5 and wait until company arrives to "bake" it!

So that's it babes! Super easy! if ya'll make it be sure to send me a message or drop a comment for me below! Let's be friends on Instagram too! I hope ya'll hang out for all the fun patriotic content this week! <3
