How to get rid of ingrown hairs for good!
Hey hey queens! Not your typical blog post I know but I wanted these tips to have a permanent spot somewhere on my handles! BECAUSE IT IS LIFE CHANGING INFORMATION, I PROMISE YOU.
Swimsuit season is coming. YES, I know it’s only January, but so many of you are ready for Spring clothes, swuimsuits, decor, etc. And these “tips” are something you need to start utilizing right now if you want to be on your best Swimsuit game this upcoming season. Also, I’m tired of Winter, so there’s that.
Ya’ll wanna know what one of my biggest pet peeves is besides somebody putting a dirty dish in the sink after I JUST washed all the dishes? INGROWN FREAKING HAIRS. You know the ones I’m talking about specifically. On the bikini line, or on the bottoms of my ankles. I don’t know why I get them so bad there all the time. Well, before I started using these products and following a specific routine when shaving. I promise you, you WILL see a difference if you follow these tips, okay?
Side note: I have tried laser hair removal and it didn’t work for me, my hair is too light and my skin is too dark and HOLY ISH, that ish HURTSSSSS. I’ve given birth to children, have a few tats and I truly think that laser hair removal was the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever felt. YIKES.
Let’s get started with some tips to prevent and get rid of ingrown hairs for GOOD!
exfoliation is key:
PLEASSSSE make sure you are exfoliating before you shave, it is a complete game changer. I’ve tried all sorts of scrubs and this one is still my favorite, it smells soooo good and makes my skin SUPER soft! If you shave daily, like me, then exfoliate daily. I know it sounds like overkill but I promise it’s not. Especially if you’re just using it on “problem areas” where ingrown hairs pop up for you the most.
I also use my little exfoliating mitt on my bikini line and under my arms to eliminate any ingrown hairs. It seriously made a huge difference.
THIS little tool was one of the BEST things I discovered in 2020, it completely changed the game for me when it came to ingrown hairs. I use it on my legs, bikini line and underarms before shaving, about 10 strokes in the direction of the hair and it brings all those little “prickly” hairs to the surface so they can be shaved away. Who knew?!
getcha self a good Shaving cream:
This is make or break right here ya’ll. I need a good shaving cream or else the dreaded ingrown hairs come back. I love love love this cream from Billie. Combined with the razor it is a GAME CHANGER. I promise. plus I DIE over the cute packaging and colorful razor handles. Having a good shaving CREAM, not gel, gives you the softest closest shave possible. Also, you don’t need a ton of it. Just a quarter sized amount is plenty!
tip: make sure you’re using a razor with at least 5 blades.
use and ingrown hair prevention oil:
I KNOWWWWW, all of this is time consuming, right? Not really. The whole process really is less than 10 minutes and makes such a huge difference. I apply a super tiny amount of this oil to my bikini line and problem areas and I haven’t had a single ingrown hair since. The little bottle lasts FOREVER. Tend skin is also amazing as well. As long as you’re applying with a soft cotton pad and using the exfoliating mitt the results will be the same.
don’t forget to moisturize:
keeping your skin hydrated is the key to keeping ingrown hairs at bay, make sure you’re using a sharp razor (no dull blades!) and a nice shaving cream, apply an oil after and you’re good to go! Look at you boo!!
I’ll link up everything below for you babes! Cheers to swimsuit season! I truly help these tips helped you! i KNOW they changed things for me!
this post is sponsored by Billie, but all thoughts and opinions are my own! Thank you so much for making this little blog of mine possible. xoxo
